ในการกลับมาของเกมแจกเงิน The Money Drop Thailand รายการได้ปรับกติกาใหม่ เพื่อให้ผู้แข่งขันลุ้นเงินรางวัลได้ง่ายขึ้น โดยทางรายการจะให้เงินจำนวน 1,000,000 บาท ไว้ใช้ในการตอบคำถามทั้ง 7 ข้อ ซึ่งเงินจะถูกแบ่งเป็น 50 ก้อนๆ ละ 20,000 บาท โดยระหว่างทาง ผู้แข่งขันมีสิทธิ์ใช้ตัวช่วยได้ โดยสามารถใช้ได้ในคำถาม 3 ข้อแรก ซึ่งในการใช้ตัวช่วยนั้น หลังจากพิธีกรเปิดเผยตัวเลือกทั้ง 4 ตัวเลือกของคำถามข้อนั้นแล้ว ผู้แข่งขันจะมีเวลา 5 วินาทีในการตัดสินใจว่าจะใช้ตัวช่วยหรือไม่ โดยตัวช่วยในรายการจะมีทั้งหมด 2 ตัวช่วย ได้แก่

  • เปลี่ยนคำถาม ทางรายการจะเปลี่ยนคำถามไปเล่นอีกหมวดหนึ่งที่ไม่ได้เลือกไว้ในตอนแรก ซึ่งหากเปลี่ยนคำถามแล้ว จะไม่สามารถย้อนกลับมาเล่นในหมวดก่อนหน้าได้ แต่อย่างไรก็ดี หากมีตัวช่วยเหลืออยู่ ผู้แข่งขันสามารถใช้ตัวช่วยเพิ่มเติมได้เมื่อไม่มั่นใจ
  • ตัดตัวเลือกที่ผิด ทางรายการจะตัดหนึ่งคำตอบที่ผิดออกไป โดยคำตอบที่ถูกตัดนั้น ประตูกลของคำตอบนั้นจะเปิดออก และผู้แข่งขันจะต้องเล่นคำถามนี้ทันทีโดยไม่มีสิทธิ์ใช้ตัวช่วย โดยผู้แข่งขันมีสิทธิ์วางเงินได้สูงสุดเพียง 2 ช่องเท่านั้น

เมื่อใช้ตัวช่วย "ตัดตัวเลือก" แล้ว หรือไม่ใช้ตัวช่วยเลย ผู้เข้าแข่งขันจะมีเวลา 1 นาที ในการวางเงินลงบนตัวเลือกที่คิดว่าถูกต้องให้ครบตามจำนวนเงินที่มีอยู่ ตอบถูกรักษาเงินได้เท่าไหร่ เงินที่รักษามาได้ก็จะนำไปเล่นในข้อต่อไปโดยทันที

เมื่อผู้แข่งขันผ่านมาถึงคำถามข้อที่ 4 ได้ ผู้แข่งขันมีสิทธิ์ที่จะประกันเงินรางวัลได้เป็นจำนวน 20,000 บาท โดยหากต้องการจะประกันเงินรางวัล ผู้แข่งขันจะต้องนำเงิน 40,000 บาท ให้กับทางรายการ และจะต้องเล่นเกมต่อด้วยเงินที่เหลืออยู่ ซึ่งหากเงินหล่นลงไปจนหมด ทางรายการจะนำเงินประกัน 20,000 บาท กลับมาให้กับผู้แข่งขันเพื่อใช้ในการเล่นเกมต่อไป และจะได้ตอบคำถามข้อต่อไปโดยอัตโนมัติ

หากผู้แข่งขันสามารถรักษาเงินรางวัลได้ครบทั้ง 7 ข้อ ผู้แข่งขันจะได้รับเงินรางวัลที่เหลืออยู่กลับบ้านไปเลย
